LG to empower media at Gitex 2004

Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics has announced that it will host a state of the art media lounge at its stand during Gitex this year.
The media lounge will be open to all journalists and offer a top of the range-working environment. Apart from office equipment such as printers, faxes, copiers and other equipment, facilities available at the lounge include free high-speed internet access and all day refreshments.

'The systematic dissemination of accurate and relevant information is key to the success of an event like Gitex, the largest information technology event in the Middle East. At LG we are focused on raising awareness about the buoyant Middle East IT market that is set to grow from USD6.9bn in 2003 to around USD13.4bn by 2008, according to the International Data Corporation. The media are extremely busy during Gitex and we are delighted to provide them with professional tools to do their job,' said P C Choi, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
The media lounge will be equipped with the latest LG notebooks and computers. LG notebooks are the most portable on the market and are designed for a mobile lifestyle.

The sleek computers feature the latest Intel wireless connectivity and an impressive ten hours battery life.

The stylish LG stand is designed to reflect digital harmony, the company's theme for Gitex 2004. The futuristic, 253 square metre stand will showcase LG's diverse range of leading-edge products including awarding-winning monitors and optical storage technology.

LG technology on display includes LCD multi function monitors and screens, mobile phones, tablet monitors and MP3 players. 'The 42 inch LCD TV provides superior quality images that are ideal for public display. The models feature SIPS technology that allow viewers to see still or moving images at any vertical or horizontal angle without any substantial loss in picture quality,' said Choi.

Also on show will be the new additions to LG's mobile phone range including the LG U8110 with a built in camera, video telephony and recording, MMS, WAP 2.0/ JAVA and multi media player; the LG T5100, the mega pixel camera phone with MP3 support; the LG L1100, the stylish clamshell camera phone; and the LG G5600, the camera bar shaped phone.

'As part of our strategy of becoming a key regional GSM player, we plan to introduce innovative products for the top end of the market,' said Choi. 'Gitex gives us the opportunity to showcase our technology to a highly receptive I.T. audience, to educate the market on what we have to offer and what the future might hold, while providing us with a prominent launch platform for new products.'
